“You Don’t Say?” is a rage comic face based on a contour drawing of Nicolas Cage. It is used  as a sarcastic response to an obvious observation or statement.


The image of Nicolas Cage was taken from a scene in the 1988 black comedy film Vampire’s Kiss.

Rage Comic that you know to day first appeared in a rage comic uploaded to Reddit by user LeechHax on October 1, 2011. It was vectorized by Redditor Aveileux for LeechHax to use in the comic.

Later that day, LeechHax’s comic was reposted to FunnyJunk. It received 4211 up votes in the span of a month. It was then reposted on Lowbird on October 3,2011. On November 25, 2011 it was posted on Reddit’s r/funny with the vectorized face placed next to a bag of carrots tath only listed “carrots” as the ingredient. It got over 4000 up votes in 5 days.

  • The scene from Vampire Kiss was featured in a video titled “Nicholas Cage Freaking Out,” uploaded by YouTuber twoworldsfreak01 on July 27th, 2009.
